There were several key twists that I did not see coming, and I really enjoyed that the story got much ‘bigger’ from the middle of the first book onwards. Book ratings by Goodreads. Overall I think A Witch Alone is a very good conclusion to the trilogy. I think my major problem is that I have read far too many books like this before.

Part of me was cheering for Seth, praying he would come back, and part of me wanted the other love interest to take over – I could not decide who I wanted to win Anna’s affection.

The love story is rth to end in a particular way. I actually had to stay up half the night to finish it because I was so engrossed. I finished the final I think I felt every emotion possible within the final few chapters that concluded this trilogy.

Nov 05, Cake rated it it was ok. The Winter trilogy is perfect for fans of Young Adult fantasy, magic, mystery, huge battles and romances that defy all odds. Also this whole chosen one prophesy thing, I hate as it is an easy shortcut to make the main look important and special when they are not, I would be more routed in the character if I know that they did the task out of their own merit rather then them needing to be told they have to do it because they are the only one.


As such, there are a LOT of revelations that occur in this book and all of them took me by surprise. I have adored each instalment and will definitely be picking them off my shelves to read again and again.
