Thankfully I stuck with the book and Lucy partially redeems herself later when she realizes that bufton judged Jake based on his occupation and social class, not who he was as a person.

A very quick read. For instance, a 30 year old woman who not only still lives at home with daddy, but works with him as well, and seems like she never grew emotionally beyond maybe an 18 year old.
